Suzano S.A. reported earnings results for the second quarter and six months ended June 30, 2023. For the second quarter, the company reported sales was BRL 9,159.63 million compared to BRL 11,519.66 million a year ago. Net income was BRL 5,073.13 million compared to BRL 175.63 million a year ago. Basic earnings per share from continuing operations was BRL 3.90544 compared to BRL 0.13057 a year ago. Diluted earnings per share from continuing operations was BRL 3.90397 compared to BRL 0.13054 a year ago.
For the six months, sales was BRL 20,436.02 million compared to BRL 21,262.49 million a year ago. Net income was BRL 10,310.5 million compared to BRL 10,480.34 million a year ago. Basic earnings per share from continuing operations was BRL 7.87524 compared to BRL 7.77949 a year ago. Diluted earnings per share from continuing operations was BRL 7.87231 compared to BRL 7.77825 a year ago.
Suzano SA, formerly Suzano Papel e Celulose SA is a Brazil-based forestry company. It is a developer of products made from eucalyptus forests and a vertically integrated producer of eucalyptus pulp and paper in Latin America. Its purpose is to manufacture, trade, import and export pulp, paper and other products. The Companyâs product portfolio includes coated and uncoated printing and writing paper, paperboard, tissue paper, market pulp and fluff pulp. Suzanoâs operations are divided into two segments: Pulp and Paper. The Pulp segment includes the production and commercialization of eucalyptus pulp for the foreign market, with the surplus destined for the domestic market, while the Paper segment covers the activities of production and sale of uncoated and coated paperboard and tissue.
