TDK : Lambda Nagaoka Technical Center Introduces Renewable Energy

TDK Corporation (President & CEO: Shigenao Ishiguro) announces that the company is switching to 100% green power provided by renewable energy at Nagaoka Technical Center (Nagaoka City, Niigata Prefecture) of TDK-Lambda Corporation (President and CEO: Sanai Hattori), by subscribing to "Yorisou renewable energy" supplied by Tohoku Electric Power Co., Ltd. (President and Representative Director: Kojiro Higuchi) starting July 2021. This will be the Group's first production site in Japan that powers its operation with 100% green power. TDK-Lambda is a 100% subsidiary of TDK that develops, manufactures and sells power supplies for industrial devices, which are the keys to creating an energy-saving society.
In Environmental Vision 2035, TDK has stated its aims of achieving social value (enhancing the social value of the company) and realizing a sustainable and prosperous society for all people by operating with an environmental load that does not disturb the natural cycle. Part of that effort involves reducing CO2 emissions from the electricity used at TDK-Lambda Nagaoka Technical Center to zero.
The whole TDK Group will continue its activities aimed at minimizing its global environmental footprint, such as reducing CO2 emissions, water consumption and wastewater quantities associated with production activities, in all its business activities with a view towards sustainable development.
