Quebecor Content scores a bull's eye by licensing Shooter from Paramount Television

MONTREAL, October 26, 2016 - Aiming ever higher to offer better quality and diversity to its viewers, Quebecor Content announced today that it has entered into a licensing deal with Paramount Worldwide Television Licensing & Distribution to bring the Paramount Television series Shooter to its audiences in Québec.

With Shooter, Quebecor Content deepens its portfolio to broadcast the high-quality new content across its platforms.

Shooter is a new conspiracy thriller based on the best-selling novel 'Point of Impact' by Stephen Hunter and the 2007 Paramount film starring Mark Wahlberg. Starring Ryan Phillippe (Secrets and Lies), the series follows the journey of Bob Lee Swagger, a highly-decorated veteran who is coaxed back into action to prevent a plot to kill the President. When Swagger's former commanding officer Isaac Johnson (Omar Epps, House) solicits his expertise in a clandestine operation, Swagger discovers that he has been framed and must do everything in his power to protect his family and clear his name.

Produced by Paramount Television and Universal Cable Productions, Shooter was developed and executive produced by John Hlavin (The Shield), along with executive producers Mark Wahlberg (Ballers, Boardwalk Empire) of Closest to the Hole Productions, Stephen Levinson (Ballers, Boardwalk Empire) of Leverage Entertainment and Lorenzo di Bonaventura (Transformers, The Real O'Neals). Simon Cellan Jones (Bloodline) directed the pilot. Phillippe is also a producer on the project.
