On December 8, 2022, Walgreens Boots Alliance Inc announced that it has received a shareholder proposal from Sisters of St. Francis of Philadelphia, asking the Company to commission and disclose a report on the external public health costs created by the sale of tobacco products by the Company and the manner in which such costs affect the vast majority of its shareholders who rely on overall market returns. In addition, the Company urged the shareholders to vote against the proposal at the annual meeting of shareholders scheduled to held on January 26,2023.
