Wallenius Wilhelmsen reroutes all vessels to avoidRed Sea voyagesOslo -19 December 2023 Wallenius Wilhelmsen is rerouting all vessels planned forRed Sea transit via the Cape of Good Hope due to the deteriorating security situation in the region. "The safety of our people is our number one priority. As a result of the current security situation in the southern parts of theRed Sea ,Wallenius Wilhelmsen has until further notice decided to reroute all vessels to avoid the area. We will continue to monitor the situation closely and stay in direct consultation with authorities, industry bodies and all relevant counterparts," saysLasse Kristoffersen , President, and CEO. Several vessels due to transit theRed Sea have been successfully diverted, andWallenius Wilhelmsen have no vessels in or on the way to the area.
