Woodside Petroleum Ltd. said oil production fell by 1% on-quarter, reflecting maintenance work and adverse weather, while sales revenue slumped by 17% on lower trading activity amid tight global energy markets.

The Australian energy company on Tuesday reported production of 22.3 million barrels of oil equivalent in the three months through March. Delivered sales totaled 25.5 million barrels, including a 2% increase in produced liquefied natural gas sales volume from the quarter immediately prior, it said.

Delivered sales revenue totaled $2.36 billion for the quarter.

"Revenue was buoyed by a strong average realized portfolio price of $93 per barrel of oil equivalent, despite overall lower sales volume due to reduced trading activity in the currently volatile global energy market," said Chief Executive Meg O'Neill.
