Woolworths : takes precautionary step to temporarily close Glenrose store

Woolworths has taken the precautionary step of temporarily closing its Glenrose supermarket (56-58 Glen St, Belrose) following consultation with NSW Health.

Woolworths' decision comes after three team members and a contractor returned positive COVID-19 tests between 20-22 July 2021.

The store closure will allow Woolworths to conduct additional detailed deep cleaning and await further team member COVID-19 testing results.

Woolworths has conducted deep cleaning of the Glenrose store in recent days following COVID-19 exposure notifications. Woolworths became aware of a further two cases (one team member and a contractor) on 22 July prompting the decision to temporarily close.

Nearby Woolworths stores in Frenchs Forest, St Ives and Warringah Mall remain open for the local community. Direct to boot services are also offered out of Warringah Mall, Mona Vale and Dee Why.

To ensure vulnerable community members have access to delivery, Woolworths has stood up its Priority Assistance service. This offers eligible customers including seniors, people with a disability, those with auto-immune diseases and those in mandatory self-isolation priority access to delivery.

Woolworths will continue to pay all team members for their rostered shifts while the Glenrose store is closed.

'After consulting with NSW Health, we've taken a precautionary decision to temporarily close our Glenrose supermarket.

'There have been a number of positive cases and exposure sites listed within the Glenrose Village Shopping Centre in recent days.

'While we understand the closure will be frustrating for many in the community, the safety of our team members and customers always comes first.

'We thank our customers for their understanding.'
