Airbus SE has booked a contract with the European Space Agency worth around 250 million euros ($272.4 million), it said Tuesday.

The contract is for the contruction of the third European Service Module for the National Aeronautics and Space Administration's Orion spacecraft. The module will be used to fly astronauts on the U.S. Artemis lunar mission in 2024. The module will work as the main propulsion system for the spacecraft, among other functions, Airbus said.

Airbus has already delivered a first service module to NASA, and plans to deliver the second one in the first half of 2021.
