Pennsylvania American Water Announces
Indiana Water System Upgrades
Indiana, Pa. (July 12, 2019) - Pennsylvania American Water announced today the start of construction to replace approximately 1.5 miles of aging water main in its Indiana service area to improve service reliability and fire protection for residents. The combined cost of these system improvements is approximately $1.5 million.
"These water main replacement projects support our promise to deliver clean, dependable drinking water to our customers," said Kevin Mortimer, senior superintendent of operations. "In addition, the replacement of three aging fire hydrants will enhance fire protection throughout the area."
The company's Indiana system provides water service to more than 7,400 customers.
The pipeline upgrades will begin on July 15th with the replacement of aging water mains along Locust Street in Indiana Borough. Over the next several months, the company plans to replace aging water main throughout Indiana Borough at the following locations:

Pennsylvania American Water will notify customers prior to the start of construction in their respective neighborhoods. Customers will be notified prior to any planned interruptions of service. During construction, customers might experience temporary service interruptions, discolored water and/or lower than normal water pressure.
