  Aviva PLC said Monday that it has appointed Independent Nonexecutive Director Amanda Blanc as its new chief executive officer, with immediate effect. 


  Ms. Blanc will replace Maurice Tulloch, who has stepped down for family health reasons, the U.K. insurer said. 


  The company said Mr. Tulloch has been placed on garden leave with immediate effect until the end of his six-month notice period on Jan. 5, 2021.
