In 2016, General Mills made a conscious effort and financial commitment to be a part of the solution for climate change beyond our walls - in agriculture.

We partnered with The Nature Conservancy to develop a soil health roadmap for U.S. working lands, the Soil Health Partnership and Soil Health Institute and others to help implement and advance the work.

Still, as World Soil Day 2018 is here (December 5), there is much to be done. But we are hopeful as results and progress become more frequent and widespread.

And, while we don't own farms, we know 99 percent of food comes from the soil; and we have a robust supply chain and strong partnerships with suppliers who source from incredibly dedicated farmers in growing regions throughout North America and beyond.

To date, General Mills has invested more than $4 million in soil health research and initiatives.
