NatWest Group PLC on Tuesday said its Chairman Howard Davies will be stepping down from the role before July 2024 and that a search for his successor will start in the coming months.

The chairman of the British bank said this will allow time for an orderly handover before his tenure on the board reaches nine years.

This is the maximum amount of time recommended in the U.K. Corporate Governance Code, he added in a statement ahead of the bank's annual general meeting.
