Dr. James G.
Norman is a renowned visionary and leader in the field of healthcare software and medical technologies.
Beginning in 1995, he founded several disease-specific Web portals-in part to make detailed, personalized information regarding medical conditions easier to access over the Internet.
Prior to leaving the practice of medicine to devote all his efforts to eHealth, he had a prominent academic surgical career during which he published more than 220 scientific articles, 15 books and book chapters and has been awarded numerous patents.
He is believed to be the youngest physician to achieve the rank of Full Professor in the Florida State University system where he held the rare combination of academic appointments in both Surgery and Internal Medicine and was the Director of Endocrine Surgery.
He has received fourteen government and industry-sponsored research grants, which helped drive one of the most productive research laboratories at his university.
He received his BS degree in microbiology/chemistry from the University of Central Florida in 1982, subsequently graduating with highest honors from Oral Roberts University School of Medicine in 1986 where he was president of his class.
His surgical training and fellowship were completed at the University of South Florida.
