Satellite technology firm AAC Clyde Space, through its U.S. subsidiary, has entered into a Research and Development Agreement (CRADA) with the U.S. Coast Guard to evaluate the company's satellite-based VDES technology, according to a press release.
The trials, scheduled for 2026, will focus on vessel communication and monitoring in areas lacking terrestrial coverage. The evaluation will utilize the Sedna-2 satellite and include assessments of both performance and operational utility.
