ERP software provider Fortnox is facing sharp criticism from accounting firms following the launch of its new mandatory service, Access, according to reports from Dagens industri. The service imposes an additional monthly fee ranging from 9 to 199 SEK per client, depending on the volume of vouchers processed.

Several firms claim they are being forced to pay for features they did not request and are warning of rising costs. The backlash has also gained momentum across social media platforms.

Fortnox maintains that the change is designed to enhance functionality and streamline workflows, suggesting that the dissatisfaction stems primarily from a minority of users. However, the company acknowledges a potential risk of customer churn resulting from the transition.

Fortnox shares were delisted from Nasdaq Stockholm in July 2025, following the company's acquisition by private equity firm EQT and major shareholder Olof Hallrup.
