PETROPERÚ and Gases del Norte del Perú S.A.C., GASNORP, signed the contract for the Natural Gas Distribution Service through the Pipeline Network for the new Talara Refinery, for a period of ten years.

In this way, the state-owned company ensures the continuity of the supply of natural gas directly from the companies in the region, producing the molecule, for the commissioning, start-up, guarantee tests and operation of the new refinery complex which, for its This operation will require it as a source of energy for the furnaces and boilers, as well as for the production of hydrogen, an element necessary for the various refining processes that the new Talara Refinery will have.

It is important to mention that the energy demand required for the operation of the new refinery will be 11.5 million cubic feet per day, with peaks of 15.5 million cubic feet per day. The configuration of this contemplates the use of alternative fuels such as LPG and low octane naphtha in case of contingencies.

The new Talara Refinery will be one of the axes of the Natural Gas Distribution Service Concession in charge of GASNORP in Piura, which will bring direct benefits to the region since many families will have access to natural gas in an economical, safe, practical way and friendly with the environment.

The construction work of the new Talara Refinery continues with an overall progress of 94.61%, with the beginning of its gradual start-up projected for the end of November.
