"In the past, this would be an underground event that is very embarrassing which has to be held stealthily, that no one should know about. But now we can organize this event in such a big venue and the cultural minister will also attend, I feel very touched by the support."

Wearing her signature yellow outfit, performer Nymphia Wind - the stage name of Taiwanese-American Leo Tsao - and 50 other drag queens, including two fellow RuPaul's contestants Mirage and Plane Jane, participated in the second International Drag Festival in Taipei.

Nymphia Wind was already a well-established artist on Taiwan's thriving drag scene, often wearing over-the-top outfits inspired by bananas, and has done shows at Taiwanese temples and photo shoots at wet markets dressed as a banana.
