Microsoft and European automaker Stellantis will collaborate on artificial-intelligence, cybersecurity, and engineering capabilities development.
As part of the five-year partnership, Stellantis said it will use Microsoft Azure to modernize its infrastructure, aiming for a 60% reduction in data center footprint by 2029.
The two companies said they are jointly working on more than 100 AI initiatives including customer care, product development and validation, and predictive maintenance and testing.
Stellantis also plans to establish a global cyber defense center that will leverage AI to anticipate cyberthreats, strengthen response capabilities, and protect customer data, it said.
"Our work with Stellantis reflects a shared ambition to drive AI Transformation responsibly and securely across the automotive value chain," Judson Althoff, CEO of Microsoft's Commercial Business, said Thursday. "By combining Stellantis' global scale and engineering expertise with Microsoft's trusted cloud, AI and security platforms, we are delivering real value for millions of drivers worldwide."
