U.S. export inspections of soybeans and wheat fell last week, while corn inspections rose, the Department of Agriculture said Monday.

Soybean inspections totaled 889,717 metric tons in the week ended Jan. 25, down from an upwardly revised 1.18 million tons the week before, the USDA said. China was the leading destination for soybeans.

In the current marketing year to Jan. 25, soybean exports totaled 27.7 million tons against 36.2 million the previous year.

Wheat export inspections last week fell to 264,666 tons from 315,186 tons the previous week. In the marketing year to date, wheat inspections were 11 million tons, down from 13.2 million the previous year.

Corn inspections rose to 901,958 tons in the week to Jan. 25 from 746,933 tons the previous week, and were 15.6 million tons so far this marketing year. Year-to-date corn inspections were up from 12.1 million tons the year before.

Mexico and the Philippines were the principal destinations for U.S. wheat last week, and Mexico was the leading destination for corn.

Grains futures on the Chicago Board of Trade were lower Monday, with corn off 1.3%, wheat down 1.7% and soybeans down 0.9%.
