Journalist Susanne Päivärinta will join Iltalehti, published by Alma Media, as an IL-TV Special Reporter. Päivärinta will have her own weekly live talk show that can only be watched online. IL-TV has approximately 6-7 million weekly video starts and more than two million Finns visit the Iltalehti website every week.

Most recently, Päivärinta worked at the Finnish Broadcasting Company Yleisradio as a journalist and host of A-studio. She starts at Iltalehti in mid-March.

'It's great to be part of expanding Iltalehti towards moving image. Even though many people are familiar with my journalism beforehand, in IL-TV I have the chance to spice my uncompromising and direct style with a pinch of humour. The name of the show is Sensuroimaton Päivärinta ('Päivärinta Uncensored'). I will dissect economy, politics, entertainment and sports even more directly and bravely than before', says Päivärinta.

She continues:

'And what's best: at IL-TV, we're not restricted by the rigid programme charts of traditional television. Now, the channel is open all the time. People love a 'talking head', but the ways of watching are changing at a breathtaking rate, and the growth comes from mobile use. I go where my viewers go.'

'IL-TV has grown rapidly, providing a functional and diverse media environment to advertisers. Distribution is in a state of flux, and the traditional television has many new contenders. More and more viewers are switching to mobile devices. We want to be a trendsetter in this, and I am very pleased to have a top journalist and visionary like Susanne join our ranks of experts', says Publisher and Senior Editor-in-Chief Kari Kivelä.
