BRIDGEWATER, N.J. (AP) _ Amneal Pharmaceuticals, Inc. (AMRX) on Friday reported a second-quarter loss of $120.8 million, after reporting a profit in the same period a year earlier.

The Bridgewater, New Jersey-based company said it had a loss of 80 cents per share. Earnings, adjusted for one-time gains and costs, were 19 cents per share.

The results did not meet Wall Street expectations. The average estimate of four analysts surveyed by Zacks Investment Research was for earnings of 20 cents per share.

The pharmaceutical company posted revenue of $559.4 million in the period, exceeding Street forecasts. Four analysts surveyed by Zacks expected $534.6 million.

Amneal expects full-year earnings in the range of 65 cents to 70 cents per share, with revenue in the range of $2.15 billion to $2.25 billion.

The company's shares closed at $3.46. A year ago, they were trading at $4.83.
