A Message From

Your Chairman

This year we will have two sources for questions:

1. In-personshareholders will be selected randomly to ask whatever they wish.
2. Becky Quick, of CNBC, will curate questions from non-attending shareholders and use those she believes will have the widest interest. Questions can be submitted to Becky at [e-mail]. Becky has the discretion to ask a follow-up if she feels we have not been sufficiently responsive to the question she has selected.

We will alternate between Becky and the audience and, all told, will likely handle about 40-60 questions.

In the morning session, Vice Chairmen Ajit Jain and Greg Abel will be available to answer questions from both the audience and Becky. Ajit handles insurance operations and Greg is in charge of all other operations. If questions are asked that are relevant to either of these areas, Becky or the on-premise questioner will get an answer from Ajit or Greg. Only Greg and I will be available for questions at the afternoon session.

The three of us will not get so much as a clue about the questions to be asked. We know you and Becky will pick some tough ones and that's the way we like it.

There will be an 8:15am drawing at each of the 11 microphone locations to select shareholders who wish to ask "audience" questions.

Microphone Manners

When asking a question from a microphone zone, please:

• State your name and hometown.

• Ask your question promptly - speak loud & clear.
• Do not ask more than one question or attempt to "bundle" several questions together.
• Do not ask what we are buying or selling. Even if the information is public, we do not discuss how we arrive at our decisions. We also will not discuss politics. Any other subjects are fair game.

Important Information

Meeting Credentials

Your Annual Meeting Credential is your "ticket" for enjoying the shareholder-only events and discounts over the weekend. Your credential is mandatory for admission to the various venues. Please be careful to remember your meeting credential when planning to participate in shareholder activities.

Breakfast and Lunch Fare

Breakfast pastries and coffee will be available at various locations on the Concourse of the Arena as well as in the Exhibit Hall and Convention Center. Concession stands will be offering limited breakfast items and lunch options for purchase starting at 9am.

Pre-Purchase Lunch Vouchers

Boxed lunches from Jason's Deli can be purchased on Saturday, May 4. Boxed Lunch Vouchers are limited and available for advance purchase starting at 12pm on Friday, May 3 until the lunch break on Saturday, May 4. This allows shareholders the ability to pre- purchase their voucher so you can redeem them on Saturday. Boxed Lunch Vouchers can be redeemed at any Express Lunch Distribution location on Saturday, May 4 only. The variety of boxed lunch options will be based on availability per distribution location.

Please note: CHI Health Center is now a 100% cashless facility.

Americans With Disabilities Act

The CHI Health Center Omaha is a public facility subject to Title II of the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA). The facility is accessible to disabled patrons, as required by the ADA and applicable regulations. An ADA entrance is located in the Main Arena Lobby on the 10th Street side of the building. ADA seating is available on the main floor, as well as locations throughout the arena. Event Staff personnel will be available to direct you. ADA parking is located in the parking garage as well as lots B, C and D.

Cameras/Recording Equipment/Cell Phones

Taking photographs and recording audio or video while the annual meeting is in session (including the movie portion), is strictly prohibited. This includes the use of cell phones for these purposes. This policy will be rigorously enforced. Offenders are subject to equipment confiscation, meeting credential revocation, and dismissal from the meeting.

Seat Saving

We have received complaints from some shareholders about excessive seat saving in the Arena the morning of the meeting. Reserving a few seats for your group is certainly acceptable, but blocking off entire rows is unfair to other shareholders. Security will assist in enforcing this policy.

Live Stream

The Berkshire Hathaway Q&A session will be broadcast on CNBC and webcast in English and Mandarin on CNBC.com beginning at 8:30am CT. Visit www.cnbc.com/brklive for the livestream.

Sign Language

Sign Language interpreters will be available in rooms 210-212.

The Bookworm

The Bookworm will be back this year selling one very special book, the newest edition of Poor Charlie's Almanack: The Essential Wit and Wisdom of Charles T. Munger. Stop by their booth in the exhibit hall on Friday, May 3rd or Saturday, May 4th to pick up your copy and receive a 20% shareholder discount.
