Stéphanie Maarek has been appointed Head of Compliance and member of the Group's Executive Committee with effect as of 1 January 2023. She will report to Jean-Laurent Bonnafé, Director and Chief Executive Officer of BNP Paribas. Stéphanie Maarek, Chief Conduct and Control Officer for Global Markets and CIB since 2017, will succeed Nathalie Hartmann, Head of Compliance and member of the Group's Executive Committee since 2017.

Nathalie Hartmann will become Advisor to the General Management and Director of various companies of the Group as of 1 January 2023. A graduate of the Ecole Polytechnique who then obtained a Masters in Mathematics in Finance from New York University, Stephanie Maarek joined the Group in 2006. She began her career within Global Markets and has held diverse positions involving trading and risk management within the business between New York, London and Paris.

In December 2017, she was named Chief Conduct and Control Officer for Global Markets and CIB, in charge of the management of non-financial risks: conduct, operational and regulatory. She is currently a member of the Executive Committee of Global Markets and of CIB. A graduate of HEC, Nathalie Hartmann started her career within the BNP Paribas Group in 1985 in the Human Resources Department and then at French Retail Banking.

She then held diverse positions within the CIB division, first in structured financing and then as Head of Portfolio Management. In September 2008, she became a member of the Executive Committee of CIB. In October 2014, Nathalie Hartmann was named Head of the Remediation and Transformation Programme for Compliance and joined the Executive Committee of the Function.

In addition to these responsibilities, she was named Head of KYC at the beginning of 2015. Since 1st October 2017, Nathalie Hartmann has been Head of Compliance and member of the Executive Committee of BNP Paribas.
