BERLIN (dpa-AFX) - The food delivery service Delivery Hero has set itself even higher targets for 2024 after reaching the operating break-even point. The MDax-listed company announced in Berlin on Monday that earnings adjusted for one-off effects (EBITDA) should climb to between 725 and 775 million euros in the current year. With this target range, Delivery Hero is exceeding analysts' previous expectations. The company is also aiming for a positive free cash flow. The gross merchandise value (GMV) is expected to increase by 7 to 9 percent compared to the previous year.

According to initial findings, last year's operating profit (adjusted EBITDA) amounted to over 250 million euros. Group CEO Niklas Östberg and CFO Emmanuel Thomassin focused the Group strategy on operating profitability last year. As with its rival Just Eat Takeaway, the long-held goal of particularly high growth is no longer the top priority. "We are focused on executing our strategic plan with profitable growth, cash generation and disciplined capital allocation in 2024 and beyond," said Östberg according to the press release./ngu/men
