CHICAGO (AP) _ Donnelley Financial Solutions Inc. (DFIN) on Wednesday reported second-quarter net income of $42.9 million, after reporting a loss in the same period a year earlier.

The Chicago-based company said it had net income of $1.24 per share. Earnings, adjusted for stock option expense and non-recurring costs, were $1.38 per share.

The financial communications and data services provider posted revenue of $267.5 million in the period.

Donnelley Financial shares have risen 87% since the beginning of the year. The stock has more than tripled in the last 12 months.
