FRANKFURT (dpa-AFX) - Energiekontor 's shares fell to their lowest level since the end of March on Thursday due to the dwindling optimism of an analyst. After the analyst firm Stifel gave up its buy recommendation, the share price of the wind power and solar company plummeted by 12 percent. The share was thus the laggard in the SDax, which rose by around one percent.

Stifel analyst Martin Tessier lowered his rating from "buy" to "hold" due to the expectation that the company will experience short-term headwinds for onshore wind turbines. He expects the continuing cost inflation in this business to disrupt Energiekontor's development plans.

However, the expert also referred to accidentally damaged turbines in a wind farm, as a result of which around 7 percent of wind power capacity was shut down. In the worst-case scenario, the percentage could even rise to 15 percent because of leveled turbines, delaying the sale of such plants. He therefore fears an overall reduction in dividends./tih/jha/
