(Alliance News) - Italian Defense Minister Guido Crosetto and Eni Spa CEO Claudio Descalzi signed a Memorandum of Understanding between the two parties in Rome on Monday.

The agreement consolidates strategic collaboration on security and risk assessment through the sharing of experience and information, which can complement each other's expertise gained in different geopolitical areas of common interest.

Included in this scope are scenarios related to the protection of infrastructure and sites of strategic importance to national interests, joint activities of assistance to local communities, promotion of the culture of innovation, with a focus on new technologies and also organizational, training and training aspects.

"Today's signing marks a significant step and consolidates the synergy that has always existed, and

will continue to be, between the Ministry of Defense and Eni. I strongly wanted this agreement, which

will engage us in strategic security and innovation projects. This partnership reflects

a shared commitment to national defense and the welfare of local communities. Our goal is to

build a secure and innovative future for Italy," said Defense Minister Guido Crosetto.

Eni CEO Claudio Descalzi commented, "Today's agreement strengthens the

cooperation already in place and confirms the importance of public-private collaboration as an

effective risk management tool for the protection of strategic activities and initiatives

national economy and industry. As Eni we work for Italian energy security, we have

important common goals and for this we need to team up and work together for the country."

Eni's stock closed Monday down 1.9 percent at EUR14.96 per share.
