MOSCOW, Oct 5 (Reuters) - Russian energy giant Gazprom said on Wednesday it has completed the issuance of replacement bonds due in April 2024 worth 293.6 million pounds ($332.59 million) as part of a Eurobond exchange.

It said it issued 34.54% of the total bonds it sought to replace. The original Eurobond worth 850 million pounds was placed in 2017 and carried a coupon of 4.25%.

The replacement bonds are a substitute for Eurobonds that Russian companies can no longer service due to sanctions connected to Moscow's actions in Ukraine and have equivalent issue sizes, coupons and maturities. (Reporting by Reuters, Editing by Louise Heavens)
