Maruzen Showa Unyu Co., Ltd. concluded a share transfer contract to acquire an additional 50.1% stake in Kokusai Bulk Terminal Co., Ltd from Mitsubishi Corporation and Nosan Corporation for ¥7.4 billion.

Maruzen Showa Unyu Co., Ltd. (TSE:9068) concluded a share transfer contract to acquire an additional 50.1% stake in Kokusai Bulk Terminal Co., Ltd from Mitsubishi Corporation (TSE:8058) and Nosan Corporation for ¥7.4 billion on April 26, 2019. Maruzen Showa Unyu will acquire 1.7 million shares of Kokusai Bulk Terminal of which 1.67 million shares will be acquired from Mitsubishi Corporation and 0.04 million shares from Nosan Corporation. Post completion, Maruzen Showa Unyu will own 85.62% stake in Kokusai Bulk Terminal and Kokusai Bulk Terminal will become a subsidiary of Maruzen Showa Unyu.
The transaction is resolved by the Board of Maruzen Showa Unyu. The transaction is expected to complete on June 21, 2019.
Maruzen Showa Unyu Co.,Ltd. is a Japan-based company mainly engaged in the lorry transportation business, port transportation business and on-site work. The Company operates through two business segments. The Logistics segment is involved in the lorry transportation business, freight transportation business (lorry, railroad, ocean shipping, coastal shipping, and air transportation), port transportation business (general port transportation, port cargo handling (onboard and coastal barge transportation), warehouse Business, customs clearance, packing, marine transportation and air transportation agency.
