Maurel & Prom confirms that discussions took place last week between the management of its subsidiary M&P Gabon and representatives of the local population living in the vicinity of the Ezanga permit, in response to their demands in terms of employment and economic benefits.

These discussions took place with the support of the Gabonese authorities and enabled an agreement to be reached rapidly, under which extensions to the current ESG programs will be studied and proposed in the coming weeks.

The oil company points out that production has not been affected at any time, and that the approval process for the Assala acquisition is currently underway with the Gabonese and CEMAC Ministries of Petroleum and Economy.
