Nationwide Express Courier Services Berhad announced unaudited consolidated earnings results for the second quarter and six months ended September 30, 2014. For the quarter, the company reported revenue of MYR 23,671,000 against MYR 22,858,000 a year ago. Profit before tax was MYR 153,000 against loss before tax of MYR 933,000 a year ago. Total comprehensive loss for the period was MYR 57,000 against MYR 743,000 a year ago. Basic loss per share was 0.09 sen against basic earnings per share of 1.26 sen a year ago.

For the six months, the company reported revenue of MYR 47,328 against MYR 46,411,000 a year ago, an increase of MYR 0.92 million (1.98%) due to the increase in revenue contributed by the courier segment during the period. Loss before tax was MYR 36,000 against MYR 2,550,000 a year ago, decreased to MYR 0.27 million mainly due to the decrease in costs. Total comprehensive loss for the period was MYR 270,000 against MYR 2,498,000 a year ago. Basic loss per share was 0.44 sen against basic earnings per share of 4.18 sen a year ago. Net cash used in operating activities was MYR 6,020,000 against MYR 3,553,000 a year ago. Purchase of property, plant and equipment was MYR 677,000 against MYR 1,022,000 a year ago.
