Nokia Corp. said Thursday that it has appointed Marco Wiren as Chief Financial Officer, replacing Kristian Pullola.

Mr. Pullola served in the role for three and a half years, capping a 21-year career at Nokia.

The move comes after Chief Executive Rajeev Suri said earlier this year that he was stepping down. Both Mr. Suri and Mr. Pullola will step down from their roles on Aug. 31 and leave the company at the end of the year.

Mr. Wiren currently serves as president of Wartsila Energy and executive vice president of Wartsila Group. He will join Nokia on Sept. 1, the same day as new CEO Pekka Lundmark.

Wiren has previously held the CFO role at Wartsila Group, SSAB Group, and Eltel Networks.

"Marco has deep financial and leadership experience, a sharp focus on driving operational excellence, and a demonstrated record of success," incoming CEO Mr. Lundmark said.

"He also brings an extensive background in business-to-business and technology companies."
