NEW YORK, July 30, 2015 /PRNewswire/ -- Global public relations leader Porter Novelli (PN) announced today that Paul George, partner and head of PN's global health & wellness practice, has been honored by PRWeek as one of the industry's most influential communications leaders under the age of 40. The magazine's annual "40 Under 40" list profiles young professionals who are taking the communications industry to new heights.

Since joining Porter Novelli in 2012, George has led the creation of a truly integrated global health and wellness practice and spearheaded the practice's significant growth. Current clients include some of the world's largest and most recognized brands and organizations in health and pharma. George was named a partner in 2015, joining an elite group of just 17 partners at Porter Novelli.

"Paul's energy, drive and deep knowledge of the industry have been the force behind our health & wellness practice," said Karen van Bergen, CEO, Porter Novelli. "Under his leadership we have built a team of the very best health care talent, are doing award-winning work for our clients and continue to grow. I'm thrilled to see Paul's achievements recognized by this impressive industry honor."

Prior to Porter Novelli, George spent five years in various roles at TogoRun, most recently as senior vice president and partner. In that role he led integrated, global, multi-channel (traditional and online), multi-stakeholder marketing communications programs for blue chip pharmaceutical. Prior to that, he spent nearly 10 years with CPR Worldwide/ FleishmanHillard, both in London and New York, leading internal and external global marketing communications programs for clients.

Over the course of his career, George's work has been honored with awards from PRWeek, SABRE, Communique and PRSA New York. His experience spans more than 20 therapeutic areas and multiple health care sectors including cardiology, CNS, infectious disease, oncology, men's health and respiratory.

Outside of work, George provides pro bono strategic communications counsel to Family Reach, a nonprofit organization committed to helping patients who are struggling with the financial burden of cancer, and is an active supporter of the Anti-Violence Project, which empowers LGBTQ and HIV-affected communities and allies to end all forms of violence.
