PETROLINA (HOLDINGS) PUBLIC LTD The Petrolina Racing Team made its debut in the Rally Championship 2022 in the best possible way, making a strong comeback this new season, after taking last year's championship by storm. At the opening race of the Championship, the Tiger Rally, which was held on the weekend of 12-13 February in Limassol, Petrolina Racing Team's two crews landed the first and third place, once again setting the bar high.
Last year's champion, Simos Galatrariotis, and his co-driver Antonis Ioannou, driving a VW Polo GTI R5, finished first in the Tiger Rally. Even though the crew experienced a problem with their car, they once again proved their superiority and managed to won the race. The second crew of Petrolina Racing Team, Panayiotis Yiangou and Aristos Nicolaou, driving a Hyundai i20 R5, also had an excellent performance, finishing in third place.
This year's Tiger Rally, which was organised by the Limassol Auto Club and held under the auspices of the Cyprus Motorsport Federation, included eight different special stages in the mountain areas of Limassol, covering a total distance of 90.2km. A total of 20 crews took part in the race.
A long-time supporter of sports, Petrolina is a key player of the local motorsport scene, through the dynamic presence of Petrolina Racing Team.
