(Alliance News) - RS Group PLC on Tuesday named Simon Pryce as its new chief executive officer, with effect from April 3.

In December, Lindsley Ruth stepped down as CEO of the London-based industrial and electronics products distributor due to personal reasons.

In his place, Chief Financial Officer David Egan took up the role of acting CEO.

RS said that Egan will now go back to his role of CFO, but will work alongside Pryce.

Most recently, Pryce was CEO of Ultra Electronic Holdings PLC for over four years which was acquired by Advent in August 2022. Ultra Electronics is a defence, security, transport and energy company.

Prior to this, he was CEO at BBA Aviation PLC for 10 years.

Since 2016, Pryce has been a non-executive director of RS and has been chair of the remuneration committee since 2019.

Chair Rona Fairhead said: "Simon is an experienced and proven CEO of high performing international businesses with strong, effective cultures. He has been an enormously valued member of the RS board for the last six years and been highly engaged in the development of the group's strategy."

Shares in RS were up 0.1% to 906.00 pence each in London on Tuesday morning.
