Shin-Etsu Polymer Co.,Ltd. (TSE:7970), Shin-Etsu Polymer (Thailand) Ltd. and Shin-Etsu Polymer Singapore Pte. Ltd. agreed to acquire Hymix Co.,Ltd. from 20 individuals on December 26, 2018. Shin-Etsu Polymer Singapore Pte. Ltd. will acquire 99.99% stake and Shin-Etsu Polymer Co.,Ltd. and Shin-Etsu Polymer (Thailand) Ltd. will hold 1 share of Hymix Co.,Ltd. Post completion of the deal, Hymix Co.,Ltd will operate as a subsidiary of Shin-Etsu Polymer Co.,Ltd. The Board of Directors of Shin-Etsu Polymer Co.,Ltd. passed a resolution for the deal on December 26, 2018. The transaction is expected to close on January 31, 2019. The tentative contract conclusion date is December 28, 2018 and the tentative share transfer date is January 31, 2019.
Shin-Etsu Polymer Co.,Ltd. is a Japan-based company primarily engaged in the manufacture and sale of electronic devices, precision moldings, as well as dwelling environment and living materials. The Company operates in three business segments. The Electronic Device segment is engaged in the manufacture and sale of input devices, display related devices and component related products. The Precise Molded Item segment manufactures and sells semiconductor related containers and carrier tape related products, office automation equipment parts and silicon rubber molding products. The Dwelling Environment and Living Material segment provides exterior material related products, wrapping films, plastic sheets and functional compounds, among others.
