Solidarity Saudi Takaful Co. reported earnings results for the second quarter and six months ended June 30, 2017. For the second quarter, the company reported net profit before Zakat of SAR 12,913,000 against SAR 9,474,000 a year ago. Gross written premiums were SAR 20,607,000 against SAR 40,064,000 a year ago. Net written premiums were SAR 17,635,000 against SAR 31,774,000 a year ago. Net profit of shareholders capital investment was SAR 1,856,000 against SAR 1,978,000 a year ago. The reasons for the increase in the net income during the current quarter as compared to the same quarter of the previous year are due to the release in Unearned premium, decrease in net incurred claims and decrease in policy acquisition cost. For the six months, the company reported net profit before SAR 23,556,000 against SAR 12,945,000 a year ago. Gross written premiums were SAR 56,559,000 against SAR 138,070,000 a year ago. Net written premiums were SAR 48,779,000 against SAR 120,118,000 a year ago. Net profit of shareholders capital investment was SAR 3,639,000 against loss of SAR 5,996,000 a year ago.
