(Alliance News) - Somec Spa announced Thursday that it has won a series of orders in the naval field totaling EUR21.1 million.

The deals concern the subsidiary TSI, which specializes in custom interiors for cruise ships and superyachts and is part of the "Crafts: design and creation of custom interiors" division, and consist of a total of six contracts - two of which are under option - signed with French shipyard Chantiers de L'Atlantique and shipowners Silversea and Crystal Cruises.

In order of timing of completion, the first two contracts -- awarded by Chantiers de L'Atlantique -- are for work on two super-luxury ships at the shipyard in Saint-Nazaire, France. The value of each order is EUR3.5 million, with delivery scheduled for July 2024 and June 2025, respectively.

Two option contracts, totaling EUR6.8 million, have also been signed with the French shipyard for projects to build two more ships for the same shipowning company.

Two additional agreements concern the refitting of three ships. The most substantial is related to the structural modification of the Silver Endeavour, owned by the ultra-luxury shipping company Silversea, totaling EUR4.7 million. Upon completion of the work at Genoa's San Giorgio del Porto shipyard, what is already considered the most luxurious exploration ship in the World will see its status further enhanced.

Finally, shipowner Crystal Cruises has entrusted TSI with the refitting works on the ships Crystal Serenity and Crystal Symphony, with a total value of EUR2.5 million.

Oscar Marchetto, president of Somec, said, "These latest orders confirm the renewed dynamism of a sector, that of cruise ships, in which luxury, exclusivity, style and beauty will increasingly prevail. The companies that are part of the Somec group, and in particular those in the Crafts division, prove once again that they are ready to go along with, and often anticipate, market trends."

Somec's stock closed Thursday at a par at EUR29.00 per share.
