The Sumitomo Warehouse Co., Ltd. (TSE:9303) announces a share repurchase program. Under the program, the company will repurchase up to 1,500,000 shares, representing 1.86% of its issued share capital, for ¥3,000 million. The purpose of the program is to enhance shareholder returns and improve capital efficiency.
The shares repurchased will be retired. The repurchase program will expire on February 28, 2023. As of April 30, 2022, the company had 80,774,936 shares in issue and 656,979 shares in treasury.
Sumitomo Warehouse Co Ltd is a Japan-based company mainly engaged in the integrated logistics business. The Company operates through three business segments. The Logistics segment is engaged in the warehousing, harbor transportation, international transportation and land transportation, as well as the development of software related to its logistics business. The Marine Transportation segment is engaged in the freight transportation using ships, and the operation of marine transportation agents. The Real Estate segment is engaged in the trading, leasing and management of business offices and lands.
