Toho Acetylene Co., Ltd. (TSE:4093) acquired an additional stake in Shonai Gas Co., Ltd. during the quarter ended March 31, 2013. Shonai Gas Co., Ltd reported total assets of ¥2.49 billion and shareholders' equity of ¥1.89 billion as of September 30, 2012. Toho Acetylene generated extraordinary profit by negative goodwill of ¥198 million by the acquisition of stake in its consolidated subsidiary.
