TOTO LTD. (the "Company") will construct a new sanitary ware production plant building at Nakatsu Plant of TOTO SANITECHNO LTD. ("TOTO SANITECHNO") to upgrade the aging facilities at a sanitary ware production plant in Japan.
1. Purpose of the establishment of a new sanitary ware production plant building at Nakatsu Plant of TOTO SANITECHNO
Since 2008, as part of a reorganization plan for TOTO SANITECHNO's sanitary ware business in Japan, we have been upgrading its aging domestic production facilities in order to maintain domestic employment, improve productivity, eliminate excess inventory, and contribute to the environment. As a replacement for the production facilities in an old building at TOTO SANITECHNO's Nakatsu Plant, which had deteriorated due to the building's age, the Company will construct a new plant building on the premises.
Upon the upgrade of the production line, we will introduce production facilities that have the latest performance to promote improvements in productivity. In addition, in order to promote Nakatsu plant as a green factory, we will introduce high-efficiency equipment, including a state-of-the-art fiber kiln and LED lighting, and apply Hydrotect Color Coat, an environmental construction material that features one of TOTO's "Only One" technologies, to the external walls.
