Wallenstam's headquarters in Gothenburg has been nominated as a finalist in the Sweden Green Building Awards 2022 competition. Both the company's headquarters and the regional office in Stockholm are also certified in the gold category according to the Environmental Building In-Use (Miljöbyggnad iDrift) rating system developed by the Swedish Green Building Council (SGBC). This certification is based on five areas, internal environment, health, climate impact, resources and condition, which in turn includes 14 indicators. Through effective collaboration and a clear focus on goals, the organization in just over two months succeeded in getting both offices certified in the highest category.

"It has been a tough, intensive but also a very rewarding challenge. In addition, we have carried out a really thorough review of the properties from top to bottom. A focus on sustainability that worked at its best and in this case with excellent guidance from the Swedish Green Building Council and top class teamwork from all the colleagues involved," says Karin Mizgalski, Sustainability Manager at Wallenstam.

The Environmental Building In-Use certification system strives to improve and certify buildings in use by working with the building, operation and management. This is an effective tool, which creates environmental and climate benefits through concrete measures.

The certifications according to the Swedish Green Building Council are designated in the levels bronze, silver and gold.
The project to certify both of Wallenstam's offices has involved a methodical review with numerous parameters, which resulted in a gold level certification.

Wallenstam will take part as a finalist with its headquarters in the Sweden Green Building Awards 2022 on October 27 when the contest will be decided at Norra Latin in Stockholm
