Eni has announced a significant gas discovery in Egypt's offshore waters.

"Preliminary estimates indicate approximately 2 trillion cubic feet (Tcf) of gas (about 56 billion cubic meters) of gas initially in place (GIIP) and 130 million barrels of associated condensates," the company stated in a press release.

The discovery followed the drilling of the Denise W 1 exploration well within the Temsah concession and "allows for significant synergies for accelerated development."
