NCC announced that it has been contracted by Gästrike Vatten to build a new waterworks in Mon, Skutskär, Sweden. The project is part of efforts to strengthen water supply in Gävle and Älvkarleby municipalities. The order value is approximately SEK 650 million.

Several parallel initiatives are already in progress to strengthen the water supply in the region, including new transfer pipelines between Skutskär and Gävle. At the heart of this undertaking is the new Mon waterworks, which will play a central role in the region's long-term water supply system. NCC will now commence construction of the waterworks and the associated external facilities, such as groundwater recharge systems and wells.

The project includes the installation of advanced treatment technology and places high demands on operational reliability. The project is now entering the production phase with construction scheduled to start in early April. The waterworks is expected to be commissioned in 2028.

The order value is approximately SEK 650 million and will be registered in the NCC Infrastructure business area in the first quarter of 2026.
