(Alliance News) - Pirelli & C. announced on Wednesday that its plant in Georgia, USA, will be further strengthened through the production of connected tires equipped with Cyber Tyre technology.

'Pirelli Cyber Tyre,' the company explained in a statement, 'is the world's first hardware and software system capable of collecting data and information from tire sensors, processing them with Pirelli's proprietary software and algorithms, and communicating in real time with the vehicle's electronics. This enables new functionalities integrated with driving and control systems, as well as integration with connected infrastructure, in order to enhance the driving experience and increase safety levels.'

Pirelli & C. shares were trading up 3.8% at EUR6.105 per share on Wednesday.
