Standard Chartered appointed Manus Costello as group chief financial officer, taking the interim role with immediate effect.

The London-based bank said Monday that Costello would succeed Pete Burrill as interim group financial chief and report directly to Chief Executive Bill Winters.

Costello joined the company in April 2024 as global head of investor relations. He has more than two decades of experience in equity research, including as a founding partner and global head of research at Autonomous, the company said.

He will also join the company's board as an executive director, subject to regulatory approval.

Additionally, Standard Chartered named Tanuj Kapilashrami as group chief operating officer with immediate effect, it said.
