Basis Points Moody's Investors Service on Friday said it was revising its outlook on the U.S. government's ratings to negative , while affirming the long-term issuer and senior unsecured ratings at Aaa. Moody's said a key driver to the outlook change was its assessment that downside risks to the nation's fiscal strength have increased "and may no longer be fully offset by the sovereign's unique credit strengths." U.S. consumer sentiment dipped more than expected in mid-November, and for the fourth-straight month, as fears grew over the effects of higher interest rates on household incomes and geopolitical concerns intensified. The month's preliminary reading of the University of Michigan consumer sentiment index declined to 60.4 from 63.8 in October. Economists polled by The Wall Street Journal expected the index to tick down to 63.7. (Dow Jones Newswires) Brazil's inflation eased in October after a decline in gasoline and ethanol prices helped slow the increase in transportation costs. Consumer prices increased 0.24% from September and 4.82% from a year earlier, the Brazilian Institute of Geography and Statistics said. In September, prices rose 0.26% from August and 5.19% from a year earlier. (DJN) Mexico's industrial production increased for a seventh consecutive month in September, with gains in manufacturing industries offsetting lower mining and construction activity. Output rose 0.2% from August in seasonally adjusted terms, the National Statistics Institute said. (DJN) Turkish price rises stabilised in October amid a more aggressive policy from the country's central bank. Turkey's annual rate of inflation came in at 61.36% in October following a reading of 61.53% in September, data from the country's statistics office Turkstat showed Friday. This was a softer reading than the slight rise expected by economists, according to a consensus compiled by FactSet. (DJN) Feedback Loop
