Apple has so far received only 38 applications from app developers who want to add alternative payment methods to their iOS apps. The remaining 65,000 developers are sticking with Apple's payment system.

Apple shared the figures during a hearing in a (new) lawsuit against Epic Games, Bloomberg writes. None of the 38 applications, by the way, came from major developers.

Some app developers argue that there are significant costs involved in setting up their own payment methods. Apple charges developers 27 percent commission when they offer third-party payment systems.

The judge is rather skeptical about this, signaling that Apple has tried to maintain the existing revenue model anyway.
