Apple plans to integrate ChatGPT into the next update to its iOS 18 mobile operating system, and the company is said to announce that partnership with OpenAI at its WWDC developer conference in June.

In related news: It's well-known Apple expert Mark Gurman of Bloomberg who comes out with the news about the impending deal between Apple and OpenAI. That deal would bring OpenAI' s technology to iPhones to make features with artificial intelligence better. Although an agreement is close, according to Gurman, negotiations have not yet been finalized.

  • Apple was also in long talks with Google about their AI tool Gemini, but those negotiations have come to nothing for now.

The details: It is still unclear what Apple's exact plans are with OpenAI's technology, but there are many possibilities in that area.

  • Apple could add the popular chatbot ChatGPT to future devices, such as the iPhone.

Worldwide Developers Conference

In June, Apple will hold its annual developer conference Worldwide Developers Conference (WWDC). There, it is expected to announce a lot of things around artificial intelligence.

CEO Tim Cook showed himself a fan of ChatGPT and OpenAI in the past, but added then that there are still some issues with the technology. Apple is known for not integrating technologies into their devices until they are fully on point. As a result, the company no longer always has the edge it once did, but they do generally suffer fewer bugs than other brands.
