Members of our team recently visited our Beaconsfield development to see how the works are progressing.

The Simpson Centre and Millbarn Medical Centre, in Buckinghamshire, will relocate into the purpose-built practice building when it reaches completion.

The new medical centre is being built next to the Parkway site fronting onto the A40 to the south of the town.

The Beaconsfield Primary Care Centre is approximately 1800 sqm with a 125sqm pharmacy and will accommodate care for over 20,000 patients. The building will be highly sustainable with PV solar panels to generate electricity and nine Electrical Vehicle Charging Points on site for staff and patients.

We're funding the new development, which has also benefited from capital funding from NHS England as part of a national programme to support investment in the primary care estate. We're also working alongside Ashe Group, BRP Architects, Expedite, McCann and Partners Ltd and Rossi Long Consulting to deliver this scheme by the anticipated completion date of 28th February 2022.

The two-storey building has a 110-space car park, 29 clinical rooms, health education facilities and meeting rooms. Next to the building entrance, there will be a pharmacy. The building's design will cater for the forecast increase in the town's population arising from the new housing developments and allows both GP practices will retain their own identity whilst working collaboratively together for patients.

Richard Drew, our Senior Development Manager said: "It brilliant to see the works progressing well despite the challenges that Covid has caused. We cannot wait for this project to reach completion so we can hand over the keys to the GPs. This fantastic development will be a major asset to the delivery of primary care in the community for years to come."
